sze-fan's senseless scribblings

the window to my life.

Who am I?

That the Eyes that see my sin

Would look on me with love

And watch me rise again

Who am I?

That the Voice that calm the sea,

Would call out through the rain,

And calm the storm in me.

.

.

I am a flower quickly fading,

Here today and gone tomorrow.

A wave tossed in the ocean,

A vapor in the wind.

Still You hear me when I'm calling,

Lord You catch me when I'm falling,

You told me who I am.

I am Yours.

hey Sze Fan,

now i dont mean to come as a surprise, but i don't believe i know you and vice versa.

but as i was googling a friend's blog add, i somehow mistakenly stumbled upon your page thinking you were related to her.

to cut the story short, i read your description of your profile, and i suppose i wanna offer you an encouragement, as someone who belongs to Christ too...

...in 1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him ( Eliab, David's brother ). The Lord does not look at things man looks at, but the Lord looks at the heart."

Today, God spoke to me about this. One of my past struggles ( and sometimes current struggles ) is my self-esteem which root from my looks ( in which i give very little credit ).

I saw your profile, and saw the "previous" me in you ( as much as what I can derive from ).

My testimony is this: I always wonder how other girls my age can be so confident, regardless of the way they look.

...and I have come to learn from the Bible that all earthly things and the things man deem as important (such as looks and wealth ) is temporary and will fade away, but the deeds we do in reverance for Christ is eternal.

...but there is nothing wrong with wanting to look good, to dress well, to indulge in shopping or anything that enhances the way we look.

...but if these things causes us to feel that we lack, when we don;t have enough; remember that this can only root from the evil one; and this in turn does not contribute anything to eternity.

...and remember that absolutely anyone could get their looks altered; makeup, surgery, photoshop and the sorts.

...and absolutely anyone could "lose" their looks; through alteration/fracturing/old age

...God's salvation is a seal of promise. May you pray for comfort and assurance that God has given each of his chosen people a gift, that advances the kingdom of God, and that in itself is worth so much more than what man deems as important ( looks ).

TC!

God spoke to me, hopefully this speaks to you :)

woot! thanks for your concern and care (though a total stranger).

i don't think i have an issue with my looks. haha. maybe a lil. but thanks anyway for sharing with me what God has done for you. amen!

God bless.
